Default My 3400 Mile Road Trip in a New Black GT

So ~3 weeks ago, I bought my new 06 Mustang GT in Manhattan, New York City. I knew at the time I had to be in San Francisco by Memorial Day to start my new job at Electronic Arts. And so the natural decision was made: I was going to break in my new car the right way, with a 3400 mile drive from Manhattan to San Francisco through New Jersery, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, (Montana for about 5 minutes), Idaho and Nevada. I left at 11:30 am Tuesday and arrived last night at 12:30 am. Now that I am in San Francisco for a little while, I can get started on some mods. Anyway, here are a few pics of the car from differant states, let me know what you think and what kind of long hauls you guys have taken your 'Stangs on.
Me and the Stang in Ohio
Driving in the Rain at Night in Indiana
Gas Stop in Illinois
Stang in Iowa
Yankton, SD on the Gavin's Point Dam
Somewhere in the middle of South Dakota
the Stang and the Bison in Yellowstone
IT SNOWED! IN MAY! (Idaho)

Thanks for looking!

Edit: Oh, and only 1 Ticket the whole way! Elko, Nevada. 97 in a 75, construction zone. It was an expensive one. The guy that pulled me over said I had been tagged by 3 other officers and the APB was out to pull over a Black Mustang with New York plates. Apparently I should avoid that town ever again.

A man, or shall I say Odious Barbarian, after my own heart! When I got my Stang back in February I drove her almost 1100 miles from the Gulf Coast of TX back to AZ. It would have been the best road trip ever except I had to drive all night to get back to work. Also, apparently the state highways running along the southern border of Texas are deer traps. Every mile or so there were skid marks and deer splatters on the road. No speeding for me for almost 400 miles! But I managed to get home without a ticket. Too bad the cops had it out for you in Nevada. Those are gorgeous pictures to remember the adventure by too I can't wait to see the sig you could make from them. Have the time of your life in that sweet ride!

Way to go Barbarian ... These babies were born to run ... lol ... I've done that trip myself in my 88 GT... Not to San Fran but from NYC to Las Vegas (46hrs) ... Haven't done it in my new 06 stang yet but thinking about it ...

Question ? ... Did you make a wrong turn somewhere ? ... Cause you by-passed all of Nebraska ... I-80 west takes you straight from NYC to San Francisco ...

I wanted to go to South Dakota real bad and I visted my Dad who lives in Bellvue, Idaho. I didn't do too many big Highways, stuck with the smaller roads that are much nicer to drive. it added a day or so on to the trip, but was worth it.

Very nice. Love the colors, I was going to get the black/red combo, but decided to go with satin silver/black instead. Thats a long @ss drive man, was it uncomfortable or anything? any problems with the Stang along the way?

BTW I love how clean you kept it the whole trip.. if you didnt wash it then wow you are incredible at dodging bugs lol. I can drive up the street to the store right after I wash my car and I get back and theres splattered bugs on it already.

The drive was pretty long, but i am pretty good at zoning out when i drive and i can do long stints without noticing. Longest day was doing all of Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and half of South Dakota in one day, about 15 hours. After that was Bellvue, Idaho to San Francisco, that was about 13 hours. The car drove great the whole time.
As for keeping it clean, much to my lady's dismay, every time i stopped for gas i took the windshield cleaning thing and went crazy wiping down as much of the car as i could before the tank was full.
