Locate the green wire with a black stripe going into the connector which plugs into the DRL module
Snip it
I bought a weatherproof inline fuse holder and spliced it's wires onto the two cut ends of the green wire with a black stripe.
Whenever I want to disable the running lights I can remove the fuse
- Daytime Lights are disabled and can be simply re-enabled.
- The Parking Brake Warning Light operates normally.
- The convertible top operates normally
There is no DRL module. Mind you this guy has 1 post count...
DRLs are controlled by the SJB programmed logic.
Start cutting wires there and you are in for a big pile of poop.

There is no DRL fuse. The closest thing is the headlight fuse.
Pull that and you have NO headlights, day or night.

Try this.......... ever so lightly, click your E-brake up 1 notch, this should cancel the DRLs.
Lemme know if it works, it did on a Taurus I had about 7 years ago.
JMO
Slightly pulling up the parking brake causes more problems
then just the dash telling you the parking brake is on....
The fuel guage logic uses the parking brake switch as an input
to its fuel mode logic. So nip that idea in the bud....

The only way to disable DRLs... Ready for this...
Go to the dealer and request that they be disabled...

Go early in the morning and take a box of doughnuts for the service manager.
It could be free or cost you up to a $40 tech fee....

Guess im SOL because I went to 2 different Ford dealers and they refuse to do it because my car is a Canadian vehicle. I told them I dont live in Canada and that I purchased the car here in FL used. They still wouldnt budge.

ok no worries... I got her beat...

So heres the scoop, the HID lights wouldnt run off the drl as they only put out 80 power 11.88 v at best!
so heres what I did:
my hids are freakin bright and I dont wanna burn em out so I wired the hids of the fog lights and my piaa 510s i sourced from the park lamp switch. so the fog lights function as needed like when you unlock the car the fogs turn on and I can still run blacked out if i just keep the light switch off.
for me to be legal in canada i need to have a "running light" so i may just put some blue white leds behind the lower grill to switch power... runnning lights....
either that or just always turn on my lights. either way im sure a cop has a hell of alot better things todo then bug me
but anyways yay me and if anyone needs help i should be able to help you out with the wiring side aftermarket but oem... you can theorwticly bypass the sjb and just add only a few 6 inches of wire.

Two dealers is not enough I guess.
I'm sure you can find a dealer that will do it.

The other solution if you're handy with electrical things...
You could run a cut off switch to the head light wires so you can turn them off manually.
The only thing, you'd have to turn 2 switches on for your headlights to work.
I think you could handle that...

u could put a switch in place of the ground wires for the bulbs and flip the switch... no more lights, it would only take 1 switch
