Hey everybody.. I have had my 07 GT allmost a month now, and its a rare thing for me here in San Antonio Texas to see or talk to any one near my age "52", driving a new GT. I hooked up with Lone Star Stangs, a club here in SA. They are really nice people. and some have awsome Mustangs. But I am old enough to be everybodys father for the most part.
Is there any one out there my age or older that has loved cars all his life, and so can relate to driving a new or near new 67 GT or other 60's era muscle cars? I would like to meet up with some easy going folks who still like to "let it eat" once and a while on a back street or drag strip. I dont care what kind of car you drive, as long as you like it! I just want to talk to and maybe learn from people who have been around long enough to actually know what there talking about.
I cant very well talk to a 20 year old about how he felt about the 60's and 70's Mustangs and how they compare to an 07. All this person could have done is read about it or maybe drove a "restored" one. Maybe. If your in the San Antonio area, and want to just shoot the s***, on a Friday or Saturday night......lets rock!

I'm 45 years old and live in Calgary Alberta, there are alot of older people up here driving the Mustangs and Corvettes. I've had my GT since June and have 10000kms on it alreay (went for a trip to San francisco and put lots of kms on it). My Gt is White with Red stripes and red interior with full load....fun car to drive.
50.
Austin here , tho I don`t especially get around much to any of the clubs or meets. Workin 1:30am till noon kinda leaves one out of any loops. And yes , there are plenty of times I miss my `68 Dodge Charger I had in the early `70`s, Thats why I got this , even being a MOPAR man most of my life. My wifes Durango get 12 mph , I cpuld just Imagine what the Challenger will get , prolly about 8. I`ll stick with my Mustang. <And that silly assed grin I carry>

I too am in mid-life crisis; being 52 myself and living life large as a reborn 16 year old stud driving an manual 06 GT. Life is definitely better the second time around.
Iam 52 in so ca. I have a 06/gt vert red on red some of the shows i go to the guys or 50ish . I noticed the vet club guys or 45-60 ish I think it is because the cars or 50-65000 ish. You can get a hard top gt coupe for 27-30000 so that what draws the younger crowd. The worst thing is i have to ware a cap so my bald spot wont burn.

I hit the big 50 in November. I'm in Reisterstown (about 30 minutes north of Baltimore - 18 in a GT[sm=smiley36.gif]). All kinds and ages of folks driving old and new ponies around my way. I see a lots of newer ones every day and passed a 69 vert coming back from the football game yesterday.
Long story short - A few years ago I am standing outside on a warm spring night with some folks my age and some folks younger (all old enough to have kids as it was a little league meeting) when a restored muscle car (alas, a 69 camaro) runs through gears. I turn to the group and say, "Don't you miss that?" One of the younger guys says, "Miss what?" I say "The sound of a real muscle car going through the gears." I got big grins from every guy over 40. The younger guy just looked at me. Not to say all young folks don't get it because the posts on this site, and indeed idea of this thread, are solid proof that this is not the case. Anyway, I think that's one of the big reasons why I (and maybe some other of us "older" dudes) have a mustang now. I missed the sound.

59 years old. Bought a 70 Chevelle brand new and drove for it for 36 years and over 676,000 miles before I bought the GT in March. I just didn't like any the style of any new car since I bought the Chevelle, until the 05 Mustang was introduced. Now, I have a blast driving both! Yep, the ONLY new car I've owned in 36 years!
