well i was able to fix my water leak this past weekend. Mine was leaking from the door window trim piece (the black trim piece on the outside of the car). If you removed the window seal (pull down and if will come off) the window trim piece is held to the body with torx screws (sp). remove those screws and the trim piece comes right off. You will notice there are holes in the door frame. The trim piece is suposed to have weather stripping to keep the water from leaking behind the window seal and from getting into those holes in the door frame. If you have the leak, there is a good chance the water is leaking into the car from those holes ( i tested it by squirting water into the 3 front holes). The water will run down the kick panel and behind/on top of the junction box area. My fix consisted of replacing the weather stripping i bought at a local hardware store (it was camper shell weather stripping...1 1/2 inches wide), some super trim adhesive and some sand paper to rough up the smooth surface where the weathers stripping goes. I took pictures of the trim piece and the repair job i did. I havent edited the pictures yet and i dont know how to load them so i will have to pm someone. Ford wanted $600 to fix it.......it cost me about $20 in materials and a few hrs of work. Its a very easy job to perfrom so much so a cave man could do it. If anyone has questions feel free to pm. thanks

Sorry for delay in my response.

Link to the TSB is: http://francesco.maxdsl.de/documents...B/08-26-07.pdf

Link to a list of TSBs for 2005 - 2009 Mustangs is: http://www.dr-mustang.com/index.php?...wtopic&t=40961

I will say that having a TSB out on a problem and your Mustang having the problem and you having bumper-to-bumper warranty still does not mean the dealer will willingly fix a problem.

Yeah, those are european sites and it seems a bit ironic to me. The second link above is really nice as the listings of TSBs are links to the actual pdf files.

I also have a link to a forum that categorizes TSBs by year so you know better which apply to your year Mustang but they do not link to the actual TSB. Here it is: http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61

Hope the links help and do not discourage you if you were not aware of how many issues there are with the Mustangs...

well, add another 06 to the mix. Car has about 38500 miles on it and i just discovered lake in my passenger side floorboard last night. Took the cowl grill off and ran a hose around different locations and seems like i pinned it down. Right in line with the grommets that the cowl grill fastens into, there is what looks like some sort of small vent(right up against the windshield, right about in the middel of the passenger side cowl grill) Its black plastic piece about 2 inches long. Gonna get some sealer in the morning and see if i can seal it up. Can anybody tell me what the heck this piece is? Hopefully this is the spot, i'm going to try doing the pressure test outlined in the tsb as well, seems simple enough to verify my findings.

Well they found mine awhile ago and it's not on any of the posted repairs here. Mine turned out to the seam on the top of the firewall that runs from across just below/ under the cowling.

The seam is sticks high up and if the car is level during water testing it can flow out the drains fast enough not to crest over that seam. On turns how ever the water sloshes over to one side and submerges this seam. Then the leaking starts. When testing for the water leak you need to mimmic this by lifting the left side of the car about 3 to 4 inches.

The leak was finally fixed by a factory tech, so Ford knows about this. basically one of those FINE union assembly line dumba$$'s didn't squirt the sealer in the seam.

I would bet this is the source of some of the leaks here.

Call Harvard Ford, in Harvard ILL. Ask to speak to service to get the details.

Sorry to bring this thread back to life....but it needs doing. (Long but please read!)

I had a leak problem with my Mustang 2 years ago (2005 GT). Thought it was because of a Hurricane that side swiped here in Orlando....just lots of wind and rain. (thought the replaced windshield had not been sealed correctly so Geico quickly had the car taken care of.) I had 2 inches of water standing in the passenger side, all the way to the back seat.

The company Geico deals with kept the car for a week, and could not figure out where the water was coming from. They did test after test. They even paid for my rental car the entire time. They finally figured out that there was an area that held standing water in the fire wall which they attributed to a clogged air conditioning filter. (There was at least a gallon of water)

A new filter was put into place, it was cleaned out and returned as fresh as a daisy. Carpet disinfected, etc. This was all just past the 3 year warranty with 20 thousand some odd miles on the car.

Little did I know I was in for Hell a year later. Seems it was leaking continually unbeknown to me. After being in the hospital this past August for 10 days and my car not being driven for over a month, the entire passenger side was wet, full of a white mold that crawled like spider webs over the carpet and was as thick as jelly underneath the mats.

My battery was dead (all power eaten up). After getting that diagnosed by Sears the windshield wipers won't stop and the break lights won't turn off even with no power to the car. (Seems everything is shorting out)! (Gem Module soaked?)!!!!!

Thank god for this forum, and those who contributed. I have an extended bumper to bumper with Geico, and I also called the 800 number listed here to complain to Ford. No action by Ford but at least its in the system.

I pulled out all my carpet, etc., myself, dried, disenfected, and reinstalled. Am waiting for the Gem Module to dry out. I called Geico, but am not clear whether they will cover this, and there is still a 250.00 deductible which frankly, I can't afford right now.

So please....complain....eventually there might be a recall.

Ford was nice but no action.
