ORIGINAL: wolfey2k I'll lay odds that when the 'vette gets up into 3 figure speeds, it will come unglued from the road well before a similarily modified Mustang will. I wouldn't recomend anyone trying that though ;-)
Apparently you don't know your Corvettes very well. A friend of mine took his 07 to the Texas One Mile and ran 164.5 mph. Said it was just like a Sunday afternoon ride. I've only had mine to a nice smooth slow 150. Still pulling like crazy at at that speed! Mustang guys don't know what that's about though.
I guess you don't get it. Try going through turns as fast as you can in a 'vette and have the 'stang do the same thing. I'll bet you the 'stang sticks long after the 'vette has launched it's sorry ass off the road and made road pizza of the driver!

Ya Larry with my old Vette, it was so smooth at high speeds it was something! The wind would push ya down and you'd feel the aerodynamics. The good old days.

Listen Jay, the vert's have cross members stock. The Shelby GT500's have the cross member stock.
The coupe's didn't until recently.
Here's a simple test, go find and test drive a used stang with 15K+ miles on it. No thunk!
Ford isn't going to spend one penny more on upgrades than they have to. We all know that, especially since they are still shrinking!
I doubt the strut bearings are any different, design wise, on the vert's than on the coupes.
We all know the Shelby bearings are the same junk as the rest of them.
So if Ford doesn't upgrade the strut's etc. perhaps they will replace the strut assemblies along with adding a new cross member to our coupes and that will be the end of the thunk.....hopefully!
Seems like it should work but heck I know people are going to argue about that too. So WTF anyway!

You are correct, I don't get it. I'll leave those high speed turns to the guys that have done everything on this earth they have wanted to do.

As far as my old Vette, it out handled anything on the road at that time. Except for a Ferrari etc. It was the fastest car in my area too. Weren't too many cars you could put 10 wide tires on without serious mods. Anyway back to the thunking, Yes we do have the same POS upper mount. Base models, GT's &Conv's. Only the Shelby has different mounts. You were the one that keep saying "if we had the crossbar it wouldn't thunk" Which I still don't agree with. I still think mine was going to thunk with or without it. But lets say it did surpress the noise. What's to say Ford isn't doing just that?

sorry jay. i wish that had been the silver bullet for you. i am sorry to report that my car now is suffering from the hesitation on acceleration. i think the fuel pump is bad since there is a huge amount of info on this subject on several forums. 5,000 miles and the fuel pump needs replaced. i don't even know what to say any more. assoon as i get all giddy and excited about this car, it turns around and sh!ts on me.

anybody else here had this problem? please email me if you have any suggestions.
Hey Northy,

Hard to believe your baby is hesitating. Must be the driver...

Thought that the hesitationwas a only V6 problem.

Mine had it. Got the "fix". And STILL had the hesitation.

Put on the new duals and PRESTO! No more hesitation!

Goes like a bat outta hell! (for a 6 anyway)

No bogging after 3,000 miles.

Go get your fuel pump, I hear it is a $700 part.

Good luck.

SOHC

PS: Still love the look of your ride. Retro NASCAR. Beautiful.
