My car was out of warranty so I paid for the mounts and installed them myself. If you replace the strut mounts and align the strut mount stud nuts with their original marks on top of the strut tower, a re-alignment is not necessary.

Default Sway Bar Link

Mine had a bad sway bar link, it's about 3 inches long with each end had a bar that sticks out like a "Z" shape. It connects the sway bar with the strut. After replacing it, it was all tight and quiet. But it came back after about 3000 miles. I'll put a video with the noise on youtube.

Can someone explain to me why in the TSB they are still listing to old revision of the mount for the convertibles 5R3Z-18183-A ?

Why would the verts have different mounts than the coupes ?

I'm looking at TSB 07-18-1..

Thanks,

Convertibles use different springs with different spring rates than the hardtop GT. For the convertible, the 5R3Z-18183-A mounts wear out and cause the thunk. They should be replaced with the same part number.

I had this problem... it's not hard to fix yourself if you have a floor jack, just jack up the car and take off the front wheels (1 at a time if you don't have jackstands)

Make sure all the bolts are tight and the sound should go away. My driver side ones were pretty tight, but passenger ones were really loose.

But yeah, my car has this problem. Will be checking the sway bar soon.
