Hi Wolfey, Welcome to the "I can't take it anymore" group. Good luck with your bar. You guys might find this interesting. I put on a strut tower brace and it calmed down the noise a little, noise wasn't on the ripples. I was thinking "it must be my imagination". Everyone on the thread said it didn't help. Anyways I went down and had the G-Trac bar install and still the noise on the bumps but not the little ripples. The strut tower brace needed notching to clear the intakew/plenum cover so I removed it and brought down to the weld shop. Guess what... noise back on the ripples. So on my car the strut tower bracehelped a little. Isn't it weird how stuff helps one but not others? Can't wait for the solid swaybar to see what that does.
Yeah Jay, I figured my defeat would make you happy. ;p
Oh well, goodbye reason, hello neurosis!

I have been considering buying an '08 GT next year. I think I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how the story turns out. If anything I'll be taking a copy of this thread to my dealer when the time comes.

Hi ilmor, Good idea to wait for the 08. I figure they'll try tohave the fix when they start production. No Wolfey, don't concider it a defeat. They only thing that will make me happy is when we figure this problem out for ourselves. Ford won't do it, so "we" will!
Fords probably dragging it's feet figuring if they wait for more warrentys to run out, it will save them millions. I'm guessing 10-15 million each model year.

Welcome ilmor!
yah, just be ready for sales pitch BS, "oh, we fixed that problem eons ago" and crap like that. When you test drive one, insist on driving over bumpy roads or take it for a 50 mile test drive 'alone' and if they won't let you, find another dealer that will.
One thing about the late model Mustangs is they are road noise monsters! You can hear the road running under you as the insulation on the floor board is next to nothing IMO.
I added Dynamat throughout as my first mod/improvement and it loweredroad noise by at least 70%!Very quiet nowlike a luxury car is! ;-)
Good luck with your purchase!

I'm sorry, but I don't see a dealership let you take a brand new Stang or any car for that matter for a 50 mile road test, if everyone insisted on that, when one goes to purchase that car it's gonna have to high a mileage, now it's practically used.

Ya I took a Mustang for a test drive once (before I ordered mine) and it had over 200 miles. I couldn't imagine what those miles were like and passed on it. (Especially when the salesman turned the wiper on to geta bunch of sand off the windsheild.)By the way it didn't thunk. But a 10 mile test drive under all conditions will tell you if it's noisy. Noise is under 35mph when new.

That's what I mean Jay, I certainly would pass on a vehicle if it had that much miles on a "new"car, unless they would adjust the price(not likely) then MAYBE I would consider it.

Ya Stang, I've seen on this forum were guys say they beat the crap out of cars on test drives. I came back and said "what salesman would let you do that?" And they came back saying "the salesman just sat there not saying anything." I guess it doesn't matter to the salesman as long as he gets the "sale".

I had one salesman encourage me to romp on it. Needless to say, I didn't buy that one!
