And why not call it a Mustang. I think maybe the car needs a NEW look. Not go back and do retro and make it look like OLD bodies. ( dont get me wrong I think the 05+ models might be one of my favorite bodies and we even own one) but i think its time for a NEWER design.
And it cant hurt to try.... i mean you cant call a 1978 Mustang II a mustang
or even 79 - 94....the fox bodies 5.0's....sorry people with those but come on if you like that retro look that is not a mustang. Its an escort with a big engine. At least when they came out with the 95 they tried somthing new...and it turned out to do very well.
Why not come out with this car it needs somthing new not old looks.
Look how the camaro is turning out people are going crazy for it .... i bet IF and only IF GM doesnt price that thing crazy like thery always do it will sell like crazy.....and guess what their trying somthing new with retro flare....and yet all those sharp edges make it look nothin like an older camaro...
I know most of you can say thats not a mustang or dont put that name on it but i dont see why not try it and redesign the body and make it lookmore aggresive. ( but i guess all this is my opinon )

some of the people in the 5.0 forum would hurt you very badly if they read this
Uh, that also made NO sense at all!
The S197 (your car!) is the most retro of all Mustangs ever made!
The reason the Mustang has endured for so long is because they DON'T change it too drastically. The Giugiaro goes way too far with the rear but then keeps little styling queues. Like the pony in the grill. Personally, I like the grill with all the little ponies and that's all!
