I guess I forgot to go into what plans I have for this thing.
Both front and back bumper covers have damage to them so I will be replacing them with GT take-offs. The spoiler of course will need to be added with the side rails to match the kit.
After more tests on removing the paint we've come to the decision to strip the whole thing and repaint. That's what I wanted from the begining but my step father wanted to at least give it a shot. I'm thinking of painting it Grabber Orange with either White or Silver stripes. We have the knowhow and the equipment to paint it ourselves so I'll be able to do some customizing to the paint. Also I'll be using a chemical paint strippper gel to take everything down to the metal.
And for those interested I found it on Yahoo Auto's which I think just pimps for AutoTrader. I'd been watching eBay for months trying to find one to fix up but they always go for way too much. I just got lucky and found a guy who had purchased it at a police auction and then decided he didn't have time to fix it up so he just wanted his money back.
Hehe and you should see the looks I get from people when I drive it in town.
So after a few more tugs we're ready to move it into the garage.

Another quick look at what we've done so far.

And just like it's Monday we get back to the grind!

Must remove as much paint as possible while cleaning up the metal.

Need to get all the spots that have divits and warps. Do you know what time it is??

It's BONDO TIME!!!!

This is just the first layer of Bondo. There will be many more as we will need to shape it to match.

After sanding it down a bit we need to make sure the tail light will fit properly.

Not too bad for one days work!
This weekend we will start stripping all the paint and continue to get the rear in shape.
Stay tuned for more next week.
