Default RE: 18 inch fanblade tires?

NIU; As in northern illinois university

The only reason I can think of going with the stock 235/50/18 is the cost and the load rating, meaning you don't need as much air(psi) in the tires to keep from rolling the shoulders.

The 255/45/18 tires may need to be inflated more than the 235.

That depends on the particular 255/45/18 also. Some are extra load, carry a 99 load index. Like my F1's and actually carry a heavier load at 32psi,(1614lbs) than the stock 235/50 @ 32psi (1532lbs)
Standard load (93 load index) 255/45/18's @32psi (1367lbs) Theres where you will need a pressure increase.

I'm going with the stockers because

1) ride handling balance seemed good for a daily driver on the Bridgestones.

2) they're a lot cheaper. 89 dollars to 150 compared to the Goodyears.

Strange that anyone would say there was ZERO reason for going with stockers?

However, if there's a good reason for going with Goodyear F1's despite the extra cost I'm open to hearing about them. Does is substantially improve grip? How's road noise and ride with those?

Just a newbie question.

What is TPM? And how is harder to install the tires if you have it?

More bite all around, acceleration, and cornering more responsiveness. Looks better, imo. Stockers looks just too narrow.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System. 07-08s have it.
They are sensors mounted with bands inside the tires.
Not that more difficult to mount if you know what you
are doing. You have to knowhow the TPMS module is
indexed so you dont damage it when breaking the bead. [:@]

I'm looking into going 275/45/18 all around on my 18x8.5 bullitts.....after my Goodyear Supercar's wear out. There will be rubbing issues though with the 50mm offset unless I use steering stops, spacers, .....or.....I could just not turn my steering wheel all the way to the sides.

275/45/18 is about .56" taller than my stock 235/55/17, but 1.57" wider...Oh yeeeeaaaaahhh!

Here's a comparison among four sizes that keep Wheel Revs per Mile fairly close.

Left to right, they are GT 17" takeoff, upgrade on 19" rims, upgrade on "Fanblades", original V6 16".
Pictures are of 245-45-18 Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R.
