I will never take my car to a Ford dealer for anything other then recall work. I called the specialized Ford dealer by me thats supposed to be a designated FRPP/performance shop to see if they could squeze me in for a quick Hurst install......no more then 45 minute, fairely straight forward right? The service guy had the reaction like you would expect if I asked him to install a Whipple in 45 minutes. He told me they only have one guy who can install those!!!????WTF? I thought you guys were a performance dealer who installs superchargers and suspensions ect. and you cant install a freakin shifter? He told me sometime next week when the guys back to setup an appointment......needless to say I wont be giving them the $150 to install it.......$150,their techs must be rich if they are charging that much for at most an hours worth of work. Damn I hate dealerships[&:]

You think that's bad? I went to our local Dodge dealership to get a tech to look at something specific on my truck for 1 minute to assess whether it needs to be booked in for work, and the service counter wouldn't do it. They wanted me to book me in "next week" for it.
So I'm like, I paid over 50k cash for this truck 8 months ago and you won't give me a tech for one minute?? "No, sorry sir, we don't operate like that".
Needless to say I wrote a nice letter to the garage owner explaining that a reply wasn't required, I won't EVER go there again for service nor purchase. Turds.

In fairness, 45 minutes for that shifter install is possible only if the tech has done it a few times. I would be very reluctant, as a workshop, to promise that time period.
My shifter took the Ford tech nearly 2 hours, and i was standing with him.
It took my cousin about an hour and a half to install my hurst shifter...it was his first one and he said that if he were to do another it'd take a half an hour since he knows what he is doing the next time around...
45 minutes isn't unheard of for a performance dealer considering they should have done a few before. The shop Im going to take it to said less then an hour so it obviously can be done.
