Default RE: 08 GT Mustang Gas Mileage

Wantsa Stang GT and wants better gas mileage... Sounds like a conflict of interest.

My Stang gets about 23 MPG, average, with about 95% highway and spirited driving. It gets about 3-4 MPG better than my SUV does so I'm happy. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective.

im wondering if everyone who calculates their MPG is using the onboard thing or are you checking it via gas receipts? i've been using the onboard thing myself.
Yeah those on board computers are never accurate. Add to the fact that many people do not properly know how to calculate it by hand and it scews the numbers to look like they get better mpg than they really do. My '01 GT gets 15mpg around town and 19 hiway(heavily modded). My '08 V6 gets 23 mpg city and 29 hiway.

I don't get it...I drive mine somewhat fast but not too bad, and I cruise often and I only get TOPS 14 mpg...And the tank always says empty but I can only get like 13-14 gallons in the tank when I fill it up.
Same here, i“ve never had over 13 mpg in city driving. Around 22mpg in highway driving at 75mph aprox. And I still Love my car

I typically get 25+ calculated mostly highway. If I do a lot of around town it will drop to the low 20's, stick w/ 3.31's. It all depends on your driving style. Also the computer always has me at .5-1 mpg higher.

I get on average 22mpg. That around 18-20 in city and around 25-27 on the freeway. I did notice a big improvement when I installed the K&N CAI and the sctx3 87 tune. I also have a 5 speed, 3.55 rear, end and Magnaflow axel backs.

It's amazing how much the mpg of these cars seems to vary. I get about 9-11 mpg in mostly city driving. On a roadtrip that was 350 miles all highway I got about 23 mpg.
