I get better in the city than I thought I would (17-19), but worse on the highway than I thought I might (22-24). A couple of things I noticed on highway mpg, these cars are severely affected by wind. Going against the wind (wind avg of 20mph) drops the mileage 2-3 mpg, going with the wind at the same speed only increases it a mpg or two. Also, running the air conditioner drops the mpg at least 1-2 mpg.
And my computer has been spot on, taking almost exactly the amout to refuel as it says the car has used.

Wantsa Stang GT and wants better gas mileage... Sounds like a conflict of interest.
My Stang gets about 23 MPG, average, with about 95% highway and spirited driving. It gets about 3-4 MPG better than my SUV does so I'm happy. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective.
Yep!
That's like wanting a hot girlfriend... who doesn't get hit on by other guys!

Wow some of you guys are getting HORRIBLE gas mileage! I have 3.31s, K&N CAI, and Steeda Underdrive pullies andI average 22 mpg with mostly city and some highway. I used to average about 18-20 mpg but after I installed the pullies, it shot up to 22. Awsome!
ulua, do you drive conservatively or rather aggressive. I am somewhat aggressive but not too bad and like I said before, I get 14 mpg, but then again, that is what my trip computer says, not calculated.
My performance mods also increase fuel efficiency...
Underdrive Pulleys - less parasitic loss from the accessories
Aluminum Driveshaft - less rotational mass in the driveline, 35 lbs lighter
Axle-Back Exhaust - supposedly increases gas mileage by relieving back pressure on the exhaust - I don't know if I believe that one but it does sound great!
I noticed an increase of about 2 MPG on the mods above. Not bad considering the increase in acceleration they provide!
I just added the Steeda CAI with the high-flow elbow and Brenspeed's 87 tune this weekend. I will report back if this mod also increases efficiency, but it hard to stay out of the gas!

just buy a v6 with a tune cai...its as fast as that 02 gt you have now....and drive it gently and you will see almost 30mpg on the highway. Not to mention, saving the 5-7k from not buying the gt. jmo..
since when does a V6 with a tune and cai make 260+HP at the crank?!
My 07with manual and3.31s was getin around 20 mpg when I first got it ( I played with it more ) but Im getin consistant 25-26 mpg just goin back and forth to work combined hiway and country roads. Iwas thinking abouta cai and exhaust , since some people aregetin beter mpg I may do it sooner than later
