Default 06GT Shaker 1000 Aux question

Hello everyone!

I'm a proud new owner of a 2006 Mustang GT (just bought it today!) and am new to the forums, although I have poked around here quite a bit over the past two years or so.

I have a question about the aux button on the dash; I know it's "non-functional" and there is no aux cable int he console like the 07s+, but I'm looking to use an ipod and wondering how some of you guys have done it (Shaker1000). I've used an itrip before in other cars and it worked fine in Buffalo, but at home here in NYC it doesn't quite do the trick. Thanks in advance!

Justin

aaand here's a pic of the new ride

Well, my AUX button switches to my Satellite radio... as for the ipod hookup, I have no clue. My 07 comes with a hook up in the middle console.

Yeah the 07s come with an actual aux cable. We just get a aux button lol. So far what i've read is that it's almost pointless do get anything done to fix it since you can buy a better heradunit with an aux jack on it for about as much as it would cost for you to buy and have an aux cable installed. Was anybody able to 'fix' this without spending a decent amount of money?

P.I.E. FRD004, or Peripheral iSimple ISFD73 will do what you need.

iSimple ISFD73 through BestBuy.com.

P.I.E. Homepage for all the info on the P.I.E. adapter straight from the horses mouth.

I personally use the iSimple, and would reccomend it. It also allows for a second AUX input like satellite radio.
