Default Radar detector.. Escort 9500ix??

Well I had my Escort 8500 X50 for about 2 1/2 years but yesterday while I was working out at 24 hour fitness someone decided they wanted it. I always lock my car so I don't know how they got in but the only thing they stole was my radar detector. They left about 500 dollars in CD's, 200 rounds of 9mm ammo, and my diablo tuner. I'm thankful they didn't steal the tuner because that would have been a big mess. Anyways I just went to Escort's website and saw they had two new radar detectors. The 9500i and 9500ix one is $450 and the other is $500. Anyone have one of these? Is it worth the extra $150-200 over the 8500?

Oh and the funny part about it was that this happened in Chandler not Tucson... I'm visiting my GF and we are house sitting in Chandler.

i don't know about the ix, but the 9500i is worth it. it uses gps to remember where false alarms are, you can set where there are speed traps, etc. if you'll use the extra features, it's worth it, if not, get the 8500, it's a good detector for the basics.

Sorry to hear about that!

Once you decide check us out we are offering a package deal with an Escort Radar Detector, SCO Mount and Invisicord.

http://www.southernmustangparts.com/...tors-c-33.html

Order the 9500i / 9500ix or 8500 and get the mount and invisicord Free.

The 9500ix is relatively new so we have sold a lot more of the 8500 and 9500i but this new one is supposed to be top of the line!

I just replaced my 8500 with a 9500i from the above sponsor. This thing is awesome! It has a lot more features than the 8500 and also seems to detect radar from further away. I wouldnt hesitate on the 9500i.

The 9500i and ix are excellent detectors. I recently bought the Bel STI-Driver mainly for it's stealthyness. Had that not been a feature I wanted, I'd have gone with the 9500 series.

Valentine 1 FTW! but the 9500 is a good detector as well for its features my best freind has one and says its better than in comparison to the 8500 he use to have so I would go with it over the 8500 but a V1 over all of them.

If you wire it into the dome lights, the detector stays on for like 20 minutes or so after you shut the car down. I wired mine into the fuse box on the passenger side footwell and ran the cord up the side by the door jam, through the a pillar, and tucked it neatly inside the headliner. its very stealthy and almost nobody on the road notices that i have a detector (including police). I have the actual detector mounted high on the windshield just below the tint stripe and just to the left of the rear view mirror. The a-pillars block anyone driving next to you from seeing your detector on your windshield.
