Very few of the Whistlers are worth squat. Save yourself the aggravation and get either the V1, Bel STI-Driver or any of the other top-end Bel's or Escorts.

The laser capabilities of any RD, if they detect the narrow laser beam, only let you know that the LEO is targeting you. There are other countermeasures that will assist in reducing the distance for him to get a lock, giving you more reaction time.

I wouldn't build a detector in your car, allot of states (provinces) have laws against detectors and police have detectors that sense a radar detector even if they are shut off. Unless you don't ever plan on taking your car out of state or to a state that they are illegal, just leave it stuck to the window. Having them built in is cool though and out of sight for curious eyes in parking lots. Good luck.

LOL, me as well. If it is off, no way that i know of.

Thanks for all the advice guys..... if it performed as well as an Passport 8500 I think I would go with this deal, but doubt it will. Just think it would be awesome to have it "hidden" and better yet built into my gaugepod that has an available hole anyway.

Probably keep an eye out for a GREAT deal on a 8500, 9500, or V1.
