Go with the matte black. its not hard to keep clean at all, just take your time with the wax and you'll be fine. i've had mine for over a year with no issues.

+1 on clearcoating the whole hood to avoid ridges from the black accent.
The only way it make sense to do it IMO.
I also did a black treatment on my hood (and trunk) and I re-cleared it twice to avoid losing too much materials from wet sanding and buffing.
In FL, you need a thick coat of clear for it to last.

I say a gloss on a Bright red like yours. I have been thinking of going matte on mine just because its already gloss black.
