Thanks for the help everyone. I just tried calling both companies unfortunately they both are closed for the holidays. I did send a email to both, so I should hear something back soon.

So SCT charged $150 to unlock it?...Daaaaaaaaammmmmmm.

I have been reading plenty of threads on members experiences/comments between Bama and Brenspeed. After reading, I will probably go with Brenspeed. So no one recommends Modular Powerhouse?

I will put a plug in for VMP performance. I have been very satisfied with the 93 tune I got from them. I am almost positive they can unlock the tuner also, they just need the serial number.

For a mail order tune, no. If you had a FI setup or cammed setup Tim could tune it pretty good. If you insist on staying with someone in GA, contact Eric Brooks at Brooks speed, its in south Ga but he is damn good at these modular setups! When I get cammed I am letting him dyno tune my car.

I am not necessarily staying with someone in GA. I have seen a couple area cars from modular powerhouse around and heard some good things about them. They do have a dyno so I could get a dyno tune down the road if needed. I will probably just use Brenspeed for now.

thanks.

UPDATE...
I got a email this morning from Dave at Brenspeed and he said if my buddy wasn't able to do a "return to stock" before getting rid of the car, then the tuner will have to go back to SCT for unlocking .
BUT he did say if my buddy can show proof that the car was totaled, that SCT may waive their fee for unlocking it .

I still haven't heard from Bamachips.
