Default Best radar dector at the best price.....

Hey everyone,

I am thinking of going with the Valentine 1 radar detector. I was wondering who has the best price on these.

Also any other options I should consider before I pull the plug?

Thanks,

Nick

The V1 is an excellent detector but I'm afraid you won't find a better price for new and not "hot" since they're only available direct from the manufacturer. I opted for the Bel STI Driver for it's stealthiness and slightly lower price (when I bought mine)..

+1 I have the Escort Passport X50 and it's a great product. I drive up to my lake house in Central Florida every so often and even though I never take my car, I always take my radar. It gives me about a mile or so heads up on most of the cops I've seen. On the highway, the heads up it gives is usually around a mile or so. In the city, the heads up isn't as big but it's still very good in my opinion. It's the best 300 bucks I've ever spent.

Radar detectors pick up false alarms. If you live out in the sticks, you wont get false alarms, but if you live in the city, you will get them all the time. Look at the escort 9500i. I upgraded from the 8500 to the 9500 a couple of months ago and i love it. It uses gps and a memory so you can store false alarms and they wont annoy you every single day if you drive by the same stores. If you have any other detector, you will have to hit the mute button every time you drive past best buy, circuit city, walgreens, ect. Anything with an automatic door will set detectors off. Plus the range seems about 50% better than my 8500 which means on the highway, i pick up speed traps close to a mile in advance. I got mine from southernmustangparts.com who is a vendor here.

+1 Very true. False alarms do occur. I have never had one on the highway or when driving in the sticks (lol) but in the city, I get them when driving through the Publix plaza etc. etc. The V1 is supposedly better than the 8500 so have fun with your V1. I've only heard good things but if you're looking for something less expensive I guarantee you that the 8500 works. I have tested it many times. It has cool settings you can mess with as well.

i've got a used K-40 calibre bluetooth system if anyone is interested. i'm not using it now and i will sell it for less than half the cost of when it was new. its only about 3 months old.

kit includes front and rear sensors, front diffuser (laser), bluetooth remote, control unit, speaker, led lights, wiring instructions.

p.m. me if interested.

Dont waste your time with the 8500. The v1 dominates it in any aspect. I had the 8500 for about a year, and ive had my v1 for maybe 2 months. The v1 puts the x50 to shame IMO.

I love my K 40.

The company will pay for your ticket if you get one within 1 year after you bought the unit I believe.
