Thumbs up 4.10......

I am thinking about getting the 4.10 Gear ratio for my mustang GT 08, I currently have 3.31 which would be a huge jump from where I am now, could use some feedback, positive/negative... Thanks

No way anyone can answer that adequately without knowing how you use your Stang... DD? Track? MotorX?

I want to do this upgrade too. the acceleration is amazing. i am just waiting to get the install money so i can do this. if you plan on staying n/a then the 4.10's will be great. some on here have gotten blown and said the 4.10's were a little much. some have stayed with them. and love them. all depends on what your future plans are.
sorry to post since i dont have them but i have done a lot of research about getting them. also have to watch the whine you could get after they are installed. just need to find someone who has set up gears for the ford 8' rear end.

I don't drive the car everyday, just a pleasure car, usually on the weekends, I dont think that I will SuperCharge, not anytime soon for sure, just going to do all the bolt on's, I just don't want to do a small jump for the price then regret it, or a big jump and regret it too. I got til Weds to decide so we'll see.... Damn I'm stuck.

that is the other way around....

For you i would do 4.10s. No reason not to actually. You will enjoy the added acceleration for sure

I like 4.10's. They get along fine with my low boost supercharger. Almost everyone who has had 4.10's installed enjoys them.
If you don't have a tuner or some other means of recalibrating your speedo it's going to be way off.

I have 4.10s and my car is my D/D. I drive around 80-85 miles per. day 5 days per week. Don't worry about gas mileage or being too noisy with the 4.10s. If you plan on going s/c, then stick to low boost like Bruce ,but if you get a higher boost, say around 8-9 then you might need use something like M&H drag radials as your d/d or 4.10s and a centri s/c would work.

I wanted to put the 4:10's into mine but the price from Ford to install them was ridiculous so I gave up... I've since found a family member who could do them for half the cost, if not almost for free but my long turn goal is a S/C and I've heard that in a manual with 4:10s and a S/C its a little to much on the rear tires so I may just go with the 3:73s instead....
