Man, you guys sure are impatient
But my delay sure did generate some great interest, speculations, rumors, etc. Almost would have been more fun to let you guys hang another day or 2 too see what else popped up!
Sorry for the delay as I got home late Friday from the dyno, then had to turn around, go back on Sat. to pick up my car (2.5 hours round trip) and then spent the remainder of the weekend with no high speed internet access. And since this forum is a bandwidth hog, I opted to wait until I was home tonight to give the complete update instead of trying to get in via my phone.
First and foremost, I want to highlight the awesome effort put forth by Edelbrock to ensure my car was safely delivering as advertised! Starting with picking up my car last Thurs. and trailering it to a great local tuner/dyno (Bob Kurgan with Kurgan Motorsports), then ultimately proving it would deliver.
So here's the update:
The base tune was running a bit too lean for comfort (mid 13's) on my car, so the first adjustments were to simply add more fuel to the tune. Once they were confirmed to stay in the mid 11 range (keep in mind the dyno used a tailpipe mounted wideband, so the AF's read about .5 high - thus the steady 12), we put down the first full dyno run that resulted in very similar results to mustangbaxter's with ~400RWHP & ~380RWTQ. Since that was easily achieved, we decided to make good use of the paid dyno time (compliments of Edelbrock) and Bob started advancing the timing.
The next pass got us to around 415RWHP, followed a couple more timing tweaks along with changing the rev limiter to 6,500 we achieved 422RWHP & 394RWTQ. I opted not to push it any harder as my goal was 400RWHP through a stock air box, with 5psi pulley and stock fuel pump... so mission accomplished! There was plenty of HP left in the motor/base kit as he only put in about 14.5 degrees max timing. I might push it later for some more power, but good enough for now and time to have some fun!
Just to ensure everyone understands there was NOTHING wrong with my kit or the install (which I did myself). Only a base tune issue with high AF (unsure of why, but they are looking at the tune that resolved the lean condition) so this unit delivered as promised and will help with my goal of having a true "sleeper" as when you pop the hood, you can harder tell there is a blower nestled on top of the motor. And if you want to hear the "whine" look elsewhere as this thing is quiet as you can see on the video.
I'd stay tuned, I'm willing to bet it'll be early this week. And yes, I take pay pal
Would have been a good bet Robert!

Now you can rest easy... no blown motor, no kit issues, just solid output through an awesome kit!

So in the end, it was just the tune itself...go figure...

Whew.... Glad to hear things went well for you then... So I am getting the funds together to add this. just like you... I want the stealth look under the hood and little whine so they don't hear me coming!!!
Any lessons learned from this that could be passed slong so I / others don't end up with your headaches??
