Lightbulb How is this possible... and how to duplicate the results?

First off, PLEASE be CIVIL and on-topic in this thread. The point of this thread is not to call BS, or start arguments. I would like to duplicate the results in the article (or a little better since I have more mods...)

Here is the article in question:
http://blogs.musclemustangfastfords....uto/index.html

Summary of the article:
*2007 Mustang GT Automatic goes 12.98 @ 106.5 MPH w/ 1.98 60'
*The only mods were a Bullitt CAI and a JPC Tune. Stock Rubber.
*DA was around -400 feet
*Car was parked in shade and intake manifold was iced

Summary of the results I've achieved myself:
*2006 Mustang GT Automatic goes 13.082 @ 105.05 MPH w/ 1.969 60'
*Mods are C&L Racer CAI, Dyno Tune, Kooks Long Tube Headers, Kooks Catted X-Pipe, Pypes MM System.
*DA was around 750 feet
*Was in November w/ 55 degree temps, just let the car cool down, didn't ice the intake manifold

Summary of the differences:
*I ran .102 slower
*My trap was 1.45 MPH slower
*My 60' was .011 better
*They iced the intake manifold, I didn't
*They had a 1150 foot advantage in DA (this should amount to about .115)
*My car was dyno tuned, were the tunes by JPC considered "e-mail tunes" or what considerations were taken into account when creating the tune?
*My car has mods that should amount to 20 RWHP to 30 RWHP more than the car in the article and I think that is a conservative estimate.

I would think that with the mods I have, my car should produce if tuned properly, around 20-30 RWHP more than the car in the article and if 20-30 RWHP = .2 to .3 off my ET then shouldn't my car be capable of at least a 12.8-12.9 considering the 1150 ft difference in DA? It's not my 60', since it was better than the one in the article...

Is my tuner just a n00b or is JPC just that good at tuning? When reading this please realize I am kind of obsessed with making the most of what I have

I noticed at the bottom you have stock tires. Aslo is your car an automatic or standard shift?

Both cars are automatics. Both on stock tires.

There are many different factors that could add to your speed difference. Altitude, driver weight, head wind/tail wind, break-in of motor, quality of fuel (winter vs summer fuel)....the list can go on if you really think about it.

You've done substantial modding to free up your motor's ability to exhale, but the stock system was fairly free-flowing to begin with. You've got a CAI w/tune, but they had the bullit version w/tune....don't know the specs on how that CAI's gains. I do know that freeing up exhaust back-pressure does lower low-end torque numbers. Not much, but some.

Your numbers show you were a little bit faster in 60', but loosing 1.45 mph by the end of the run. This can be caused by a leaning of the fuel/air mixture...something that can occur when you get a tight dyno-tune.

There are a lot of factors but we do know the following:

*The difference in altitude was 1150, which should amount to about .115
*There was a 2 MPH tail wind on MY run. Not sure on the article run.
*The article says Justin is 50 lbs lighter than the author... I weigh 200 so I am guessing he's probably lighter than me too.
*Driver skill I don't think could be a factor here since both of us left it in D, and had nearly identical 60' times
*When my car was dyno'd after adding the whole exhaust system there was a net gain in RWHP and RWTQ from before.
*The dyno results seemed low compared to my 1/4 mile results. (272 RWHP, 275 RWTQ if I remember right)

I just don't think these variables, even all together, can make up for what should be at least 20-30 RWHP worth of mods, isn't 20-30 RWHP a little conservative for full exhaust? I would think it'd be more like 30-40 RWHP.

Before Brenspeed changed up their website, it listed at least one CAI/tune only combo that they ran a high 12 with no other mods.
