I use Amsoil in the Stang and Mobil1 in the SUV which I tow with. I run both 10,000 miles. If I was $$ strapped, I'd use M1 in the Stang, too. I'd have no problem running Valvoline full syn for 8-10,000 miles. You guys that pay someone to change your oil need to get your hands dirty...
It's fine stuff. Valvoline I think was the company that recently ran some ads saying it had 4x better wear protection than Mobil 1 5W30. Caused quite the stir over on bobistheoilguy.
Now they are saying it's really 9x better, they just said 4x to play it safe. I'm going to do another oil analysis on this mobil 1 fill and then fill it with valvoline just to see if it makes a difference.
I use Valvoline VR1 racing oil in my Buell motorcycle and it likes it. It's a dino oil though.
