Default How to remove interior door handle cover???

Quick question...how do I remove the door handle cover (Item #3 in pic)? I tried to pry on it where it meets the hinge of the pull lever but was afraid of it breaking. I'm trying to see if it's the source of an annoying rattle/buzz in my car.

I assume you have to remove the door panel. Mine was rattling, and I just stuck on a velcro dot behind the door handle so that it overlapped the cover and the edge of the door panel. That stopped the rattle. Another source of rattle, especially during heavy bass on the stereo, is the door lock button. That can be stopped by locking the doors.

The plastic plate in the cutout for the driver's side door handle rattles on mine. So you have to remove the entire panel off the door to get at it?

Disregard the comment about removing the door panel. After looking at the pdf more closely, I can see that's not the case. So, I don't know how to get it off. The adhesive velcro dot worked for me, and it only takes seconds to apply (assuming you have one).

I think you just pry it out. I think it's just floating in there held in place due to its shape. The part is called the Interior Door Handle Cover.

The dealer used a hooked like device to pull it them out and then used foam tape behind it to stop the rattle. They just snap in. Both my 07 and 09 had the problem.

I popped mine out with a small flat bladed screwdriver. I put a piece of double sided foam tape on it and reinstalled, snapping it in. NO more rattles!!!

I would think a paint can opener would work great. I'll have to give that a try on mine.
