Default T45 vs T5?

Whats the difference in the two transmissions? My friends parents have a cobra with a t45 transmission and he claims that it is so much better then the t5 transmission. I have heard they are better but what is the real difference? And can the difference be negated with the changing of rear gears?

you have a t3650 not a t5, t3650 is the better of all 3. i actually want to say they wont fit because the pre 96-01.5 GTs have windsor blocks vs romeo blocks in the 01.5 up.

ahh i c. I must have misread something. So why is the t3650 better than the t45?

The main thing im wondering, is when we always compare the specs on the cars, he always mentions the the t45 "racing" transmission is a huge advantage he has over my s197. Is he right or doesnt know better?

The T5 is a piece of cr@p IMO.
So smooth, it belongs in the Flintstones mobile...
It becomes obvious when I get into a GT from a sixxer.
The clutch system, although hydraulic, isn't that great either.
