Generally speaking if you think you'll want the HO, its better to get it up front. If I were buying an HO today, I'd buy the Paxton kit with the air/air intercooler for $4995. When the time comes, I may opt for the air/air on this Vortech. I'll wait and see how she is in Colorado at 7000' before I spend a dime though. If I'm content with it, I'll just leave it alone.

Thats what im thinking about getting also. The Paxton HO kit is a few hundred cheaper than the V3 HO kit.

WOW...great read...I am in (almost) the same situation as mudflap, just no S/C yet..I was total crystal on getting a TS, but for my Saturday garage queen the price of the V3, non I/C, may be the way to go...I just don't understand how the centris work...not in boost all the time somehow confuses me...lastly, how hard is the install of the non IC V3? I know mudflap did not do it, but someone on here has...can an average guy with average tools install this (FYI, I would NEVER install a TS, with 100+ steps, ect...too much could go wrong with my 09 GT/CS...I only have 1600 miles in 7 months)

Have you seen the install manual for the Vortech? Way, WAY more than 100 steps. Yeah some of them if not most are pretty easy but it's still quite a bit harder than putting an intake and a tune on there or an axleback.

I've made the decision to go with the IC no matter what blower I get. If I were in a cooler climate at sea level then I might not. But up here I want every bit of efficiency I can get and it is hot as hell in the summer.

I'm going to do the install myself, with help from friends.
