I'd say all you really need is a supercharger or turbo, a new clutch, some good tires, and a good tune. The tune will keep the car alive longer, and obviously the more you beat it the sooner it will break.

My parts list:
Saleen S/C 3.4 pulley
39lb injectors
Custom dyno tune
FRPP 4.10's
SLP Line lock
BMR lca's with relocation brackets
Steeda CAI
Pro 5.0 shifter
CHE k-member brace with torque limiters
Prothane motor mounts
Mcleod RST Twin disc clutch
Mcleod Billet steel flywheel
AFCO heat exchanger
Mickey Thompson ET Streets 275/40/17's
Diablo Maifia
SCT Xcal II
One extremely high limit and very maxed out Visa
I am on my 3rd clutch, and 4th rear end

Parts in garage: Steeda Adjustable Upper control arm, and M&H 275/50/17 DR's mounted taking them to the track tomorrow uca will be getting installed either thursday or friday. There may be a couple of things I have forgotten about.

The thing to remember is to try and spend the money once, its better to spend a little extra now than to have to repeat the process (like my clutch, rearend was fixed under warranty so I don't count that), also traction will become a very big issue especially on your street tires, I am at the point will the tires will break loose in 3rd when getting on the freeway.

Also be prepared for a lot of downtime. My ride at one point was down for 4 out of the first 6 months last year trying to fix clutch issues, tune issues, and my Xcal took a sh!t and earsed the tune in my car but would not reload the tune back in it.

But it is extremely fun to drive when the weather is nice, no rain driving, no driving when its extremely hot (at least in traffic), and I don't go to the track if its over 96 degree out side. Forgot got 38k on the car, had the S/C installed at 18k no engine problems or trans problems (except for the stupid specs II + clutch Damn I'm still mad about that.)

With the mods in my signature, you can run 12s with good traction and reaction time.

here is an article for how to get into mid 12s

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...rts/index.html

throw on a few more simple mods than they did and low 12s are possible emmisions and passing inspection in CA will probably be the hardest part for you. you can get into the upper 11s n/a but it takes quite a bit of money and im not sure you could pass emmisions with the parts you would need. (Heads, Extreme cams, and LT header exhaust might make you fail)
