still can't figure out why everyone is hating on this cai, it does have a removable inlet so when you do decide to get a tune, you can remove it and make it a 4" diameter intake (just like c&l, jlt, etc. )
I am planning on getting the SCT X3 tuner from Bamachips for my V6 in the near future. With that said, will I need to remove the inlet in order for the tune to work properly?

you shouldn't have to specify anything when you order your tune either.

there should be a restrictor piece inside the CAI tube just before the maf sensor to restrict the airflow. take it out and you get more airflow.

i have installed a few no tune CAI, the K&N did fine, but a couple others threw a CEL so a tune was necessary even tho it said no tune required.

just give my experience on this intake
yes it is a airraid with roush logo put on it.
on my car its done good so far without a tune i know with my exhaust it picked me up .2 tenths in the 1/8.
gas mielage jumped about 1 mpg.
but most def get a tune.
IIRC if you get the diablo it has the tune built in for the airraid with or without the insert.

I have the Roush CAI and got a tune from Bamachips. They told me not to take out the insert out of the tube. They said it didn't really matter and i think could cause problems.

I just left it in for now.
