Default Supercharged DD ok for cross country drive?

I was just thinking if a supercharged mustang DD would make a trip from Ca to Tx. Wouldn't want anything to break during the drive beacuse of the stress I'd be putting on the engine. My next mod is between a KB or Whipple. I had posted another thread on a suspension mod list but I called this shop and they were able to help me out with most of it so as far as that goes I'm pretty much set up. I have a budget of $ 10,000 and would like to spend it wisely. MY current set up is LT headers, CAI, O/R prochamber and axle back.

I go on the hotrod power tour with mine and it's fine. Only more stress if you get into the boost.

Do you guys need to consider 93 octane availability? I imagine in a cross country trip you'd run into the situation when you can't find 93 anywhere...

you'll be fine, a cross country drive is easy compared to the beating some of us put on our cars at the track!

however Steve makes a good point about pump gas availability, best to have a back up tune for 91 or lower and not go WOT if you have a lower octane in the car

Yeah there are situations I can only find 91, but I just make sure I stay out of the boost until I have 93 running through it again.

The whipple tune is for 91, but even if you were tuned for 93, you could simply fill up with the highest octane and drive conservatively.

I've not had a single problem with my whipple in 14,000 miles, so a cross country trip would not concern me.
