Anytime a change occurs, there will be differing opinions. I like the look of the new Stang but I still love the S197 look I have now. The rear is a little tough on the eyes at times but not unbearable. Take the rear and have the plastic either painted all the way to match the car or leave the rear diffuser section like the CS and it looks real nice.

I don't like the tail lights or the lower(black) portion of the rear bumper on the 2010's. Everything else is ok. I still think the S197 is more muscular/bolder looking.

It's really the taillights that are such a turn off.

There are numerous cars out there with the black lower facias now, including the new Camaro and the Nissan GT-R. It's a styling thing that is probably going to be seen on half the sporty cars, since they are all pretty much designed by the same people.

I must agree also with the mass on this subject. It appears that Ford allowed some Engineering Intern way too much freedom in R/D. Was this guy trying to earn his MBA or something? Thanks for nothing. You won't catch me driving one of these. I 'd sooner be seen in a 1988 probe, or 1975 Mustang II four banger with automatic and vinyl top, tan with brown top.

As far as the front goes, it looks okay. A little too much areodynamics again I think. You want areodynamics go backto the edge body or the SN95 and rework that. Leave the S197 alone.

The rear of the (original) Mustang has always been a long story! Like the Testarossa: you like or you don't like. But I think that they did a pretty good job on the 05-09 and even if the third and fourth generations don't look like a lot to the original, I think they made a pretty good job on the 94-04 about the rear, really agressive and you can find it on the 05-09 too.

The only issue I have with the rear is the diffuser on the back, just taes up too much of the mass of the rear bumper. If I were to have one, I would simply paint a good chunk of that diffuser the same color as the car (and sand it down a bit of course) and make it look more like a GT/CS rear

Who cares what it looks like... it performs. It's part of the rounding effect that allows a 10% increase in aero and 20 lbs of downforce at 120mph. More stable at speed. It works. Leave it alone .

I don't think it looks "that" bad anyway. If the rear would have been part of the complete re-design in 2005 you guys would still be drooling over it lol. You just have something to compare it to now w/ the 05/09.

Yeah, of course, the performance is (the most) important in a vehicle but the body style is an other reason to buy it.

The problems I have are the following:

1. The stupid black rocker panels. Here's a tip...If the previous V6 has it, why would you put it on the next GT???? It's ugly, lazy, and dumb! (Yes, I know it's on the GT500, but that doesn't make it right)

2. The grotesque rear diffuser. Why are all the new cars getting the black exhaust-shroud-thing? There has to be some government regulation behind it.

3. The Euro-taillights. Need I say more?

4. The slanted rear end. It just doesn't say Mustang to me.

5. The rear antenna. Why not incorporate the antenna into the windshield molding???

6. The weird little black scoop things on the lower front pumper at the corners. Looks like something's missing.

7. All the things that are displeasing about the 05-09 Mustang.....exhaust/engine sound, drive-by-wire, ...etc.

..Not to complain or anything....
