I think I will stay away from cutting any wires. Like I asked in my original post, what the heck is the SJB and where is it? More electrical problem huh? Not what I wanted to hear.

Ok I think I finally figured out what SJB is. Smart Junction Box. I love the Internet. I also found a diagnostic and testing procedure on PDF just for this issue. I am hoping it is either corrosion or a pin issue. I think I can handle either one of those. Here is the link if anyone wants to do some late night reading.

I think I may do that. The dealer called and said that the SJB is fine, but that the reverse light switch was bad. So they are charging me $210 to replace an apparent $49 part. Geez I need to get a repair manual and start doing this stuff myself.

^^^^ I tried to help. That's how they make their money. It takes like 30 seconds to change the switch...but the junction box must be the blanket internet answer to give. Despite new technology, the basic principles of car repair can still apply....reverse switches stick and you don't put roush stickers on non-roush mustangs. At least it'll be fixed though.

I know and I appreciate the help. I just don't have the tools. It just kills me that they flag hours for repairs and even if they don't pull the total flagged hours they still bill you that time. I know it did not take then 2.5 hours to replace that unit. I have worked at dealers before and know how all that works. It just bothers me, because that is the only dealer I go to for my wifes Explorer and have been for years. Figured they would cut me some time. Anyway it is fixed so now onto other issues. I hope to have the car back to new shape soon. Thanks again!
