Actually, I'm having a similar idle deal. With the car sitting still, at an idle, it's around 750rpm. Maybe a grand. Then, with A/C on, at idle, it hovers around 750rpm, then dips down to about 500rpm, with the same shudder you experience, and back up to 750rpm.

I've only started experiencing this about a month or two ago. My alternator died (weird since I only have 40k on the odometer), and had that replaced by the local Ford Dealership, and also had my battery replaced (which I actually did first because I thought that was the original problem). Ever since, I've had this idle problem.

Not really a bid deal as of yet, but if it's not good for the car, then I would like to see this problem resolved. But I'd hate to have to bring it back to Ford. BTW, I have an '06 GT, stock.

Wanted to give everyone an update for someone that searches for this thread in the future.

So Ive been dealing with this crappy idle with the AC on that has also affected my initial crank up in the morning idle really bad.

I decided today to have the girlfriend push the throttle and open the butterflies while I took some Throttle Body Cleaner to it. Nothing really gunky came out but a lot of soot. Well MY IDLE IS FIXED!!!! No shudder at all, and everything perfect with the AC on. For anyone having this weird idle issue, clean the throttle body! It takes 5 minutes and made a huge difference.

Thanks to everyone that helped.

Fords fix is to replace the throttle body. Pretty big waste since you can just remove it and clean it. It's easy to remove the throttle body from the car and that way you can clean it completely.

In my experience, these cars do not need to relearn idle after a tune or battery disconnect. Mine has always idled well after each disconnect or tune.

Thumbs up IAC Valve Problem Solved

This was my solution, try at your own risk. To me it was simple practical, cheap and very easy.

I have proudly joined this community today to thank everyone that responded to this topic. Thank You guys, if it wasn't for all your insight, I would have wasted a few hundred that I can't afford.

My Car Trouble:

-My Check Engine Light was ON
-My RPMs would rise and fall speratically
-The ODB Code was P0506 (Idle RPM LOW)
-Delay In Vehicle Response to accelerator
-Car would turn off if stopped
-Car would P!SS off Owner

My Solution:

-Replaced Air Filter
-Cleaned Master Air Flow Sensor Connected to tube that goes to Air Filter, with Solution From Auto Zone (make sure its the right solution to clean te sensor). I removed the square casing from the circular tubing and removed the switch.
-Removed Throttle Bottle from air filter connector and intake manifold (very easy) and cleaned it with solution bought from autozone (make sure you get the solution to clean throttle bodies, I believe STP makes it)
-I turned on my headlights and removed the negative post from the battery for about an hour.
- I connected the throttle body and everything else back the way it was and turned onthe car
- My Check engine light turned off and the car was idle as it was when I bought it, SMOOTH.
-I took it for a ride around a few blocks and nothing. Then I took the larger streets and then the freeway. EUREKA!!!!

Tools Needed:
-Flat Head Screw Driver
-Plyers
-Ratchet with a 9mm and 10mm (I believe those are the right ones)

Work:
-Extemely Easy Enough for a 5th Grader to Do. (Not Recommended)

Cost:
-Air Filter $13
-Throttle Body Cleaner and Air Sensor Cleaner both for $12 (Please Note: They were from different manufacturers, I just chose those.)

Learning Experience:
PRICELESS!!!
