Default Installed Comp Cams Stage2 VSR, Revs high at Startup

Installed Comp Cams Stage 2 VSR a couple of months ago. They work great, but at startup car revs to over 2500 rpm and sometimes higher. Comes down to a normal rev after a short time. Have been working with tuner, but so far unable to correct. Have cleaned MAF and throttle body thoroughly as some suggested. Any suggestions or resolutions?

all in the tuning

just to be safe, go digging around under the hood and make sure everything is hooked back up.

Thanks guys. Originally had a C. & L. Street and changed to a C. & L. Racer, but this didn't change anything. Will keep on researching and working with tuner.

hang in there lenko, this should be able
to get fixed in the tune. you may have to
do some data logs (of engine start), in order
for the tuner to see what is going on. hopefully
you have the equipment needed to do this.

My car does this as well with the stage 2 thumpr's and a brenspeed tune. I have just learned to live with it because it is over in a matter of seconds. PM me if you ever find out the diagnosis, if you don't mind.

You are right, it is just a matter of seconds, but it revs so high that I generally put it in gear right away and that can't be good for it. By the way, how high does yours go?

I will let you know if there is a solution.

Default High revs at start

Well Brenspeed sent me a new 93 tune and it seems to work pretty good. Actually the revs go to just over 1000 RPM and then settle down to a normal rate. OK so far - will watch it.
