Depending on who your talking to not everyone is impressed with SHM"s work and I'll leave it at that.

To the OP, do some serious homework before jumping into a new motor. It will pay off in the long run.

I've been looking....and looking...and looking, and I think I'm going to go w/ Livernois. I'm not a big 1/4 mile racer, or track guy. I'm looking for more than average power and still a good, relieable DD. Livernois seems to be the best for what I want to do.

Buying a built shortblock or getting the stock block honned and stuffed w/ forged internals is going to coast about the same, since I'm not doing any of the work myself don't you think?

It's better to have a back up should something go wrong, like your stock short block. Where are you located?
