I'm NOT a role model....Spoiler Removal - Ugly Style w/pic's
What you are about to see in not going to make it into any "How to" or GT500 spolier "removal guide". I will not be receiving any...... hey can you help me out buddy PM's either. Not sure who or where Taco Bill is but this is not going to be on Youtube with his adventures.
What occured today is what happens when a man with no skills, no patience, and few tools decides to take on a simple project.
Ok here goes....
Title:
GT500 Spoiler Removal
Tools/Items Used:
3M Adhesive Remover
Hack Saw
2 white socks with holes in the heel
Fish Line
Water Hose and water
Performance White Touch-up Paint
Eye Wash
Bandaids
I would like to say that early on I realized the fish line was removing my paint and I was "sawing" a hole in the spoiler.
So there I sat with broken fish line burned paint and a slice in the spoiler rendering it unsellable. WTF
I got pissed because the MFer was stuck like chuck. There just had to be a way.
New method developed.... See below:
Use a hackaw to cut the spoiler off one tiny piece at a time. Note: This will take 3 1/2 hours to do.
Use water to reduce the toxic power the hacksaw will release into the atmosphere and your lungs.
Spray 3M adhesive remover onto white socks to dab onto the 3M tape as spraying onto the car will discolor your smoked third taillight and the over spray will cause your eyes to burn. Use eyewash for the latter.
Cut and pull and cut and pull.
Use bandaids to stop the amazing amount of blood that will pour from your body when your pulling and it lets go all of the sudden.
The water hose can also be used to wash away the blood.
Done!!!!
Install stock style black spoiler and clean up car!
It starts
Final product (sorry all pic's are with an iPhone)
Blood stain in front to the right of the car.
Final product turned out how I wanted.
Thanks guys there will no more tech guides fourthcoming as I will be paying people to work on my car again.

Ya know, unbolting it and using a heat gun on that 3M body tape would have let you take it off in one piece and possibly sell it. Unbolting it alone would have helped.
great "DIY" .....would you suggest the same method for a roush spolier removal? maybe you could come over to assist me when i get ready to swap it out?

lol takes a big man to post that, kudos for that. Glad you're happy with the final product too. And I'd keep the blood, show's you and your car don't fool around
