Can't believe this thread is still going. At least the manual and auto drivers are not getting butt hurt. Glad we have a civil thread here!

I prefer the manual but I can guaranty an auto is quicker than I am. This does not apply to all but I think most. One major thing to consider however, is if you are going to keep the car stock or not. The manual can handle more power. For example, Roush does not offer their supercharger for the auto but it does for the manual.

This is the most civil 5spd vs. auto thread I can remember. It's good to see some honest opinions and light hearted ribbing instead of ignorant banter for a change.

As for the prius question, I love that car! It's roomy, comfortable, quiet and gets incredible gas mileage. It's definitely a lot more civilized on the street than my mustang, but I guess that's to be expected considering my suspension setup on the mustang. Now ask me how it feels to go from the mustang to the F150, lol. That thing is on it's last leg. Gotta hand it to Ford though, no matter how much I punish that truck, it keeps on ticking.

P.S., If you wanna stick it to Al Queda, there's nothing you can do to hurt them more than buying a Prius.

One more off topic post from me. Nine - That's cool about the Prius. It's a hybrid, right? The girlfriend wants to buy a Honda Fit Sport sometime in the near future. Especially since we have two dogs (Border Collie, and German Shepherd/Lab mix) and she wants it good on MPG and small ride. It's funny because it has paddle shifters :P

Yeah. This is actually my second one. The first one went over 100K miles without any unscheduled maintenance and the battery was still very strong.
