Yea I would think it would be comparable to the macs--volume wise but also dronbe wise too....with an O/R H I think it would be VERY loud

It does have raspiness, that was apparent the day I put it on. That's not what I'm talking about though. When I start my car sometimes, just sitting there idling, it sounds like if someone dropped a screw inside my exhaust somewhere. It doesn't always do it and once the car warms up, it stops. It's just kind of embarrassing sometimes, it makes it sound like my car is falling a part.

That may just be the raspness then. Mine makes the noise too....sounds lke a metallic rattle/exhaust leak until it warms up.

Did this just start doing it?

It started about 6 months ago I'd say. But since you said yours goes away too after warming up, then I guess it's the same thing you're hearing. I wasn't sure if something was wrong. I actually just picked up a slightly used pair of flowmasters, but after reading your posts, I might keep the pypes around as a backup.

Hmmm dunno why it would suddenly start-mine's done it the whole time....could you have possibly just noticed?

BTW I think the flows will be fine over in Tex....its these damn salty North Eastern Roads that are the death of em!

I've heard the pypes Violators/H and I think you will be pleased with how the setup sounds...remember it will still have a rasp but otherwise sounds real mean!

WOAHHHH! I just saw that was O/R "X".......this setup will be VERY raspy. Too much IMO!!! I had O/R X & Flows and was not happy. That's why I went with the H.

Though on a side note as many people there are who dislike it, there are just as many who do like it. All my friends thought the setup sounded awesome!

Let us know!

As it is right now, it's really raspy after it goes over 2500-3000 rpms, otherwise it sounds good. The current setup I got a couple of years ago and didn't do all the research I should have. I would have bought your setup if I was starting from scratch today. I've heard some clips with my x pipe and the flows I'm getting, and it sounds better than what I have, so I think I'll be happy with it. I'll try to post a clip if I can once I have them on in a week or so.

From what I remember, it just trumpets at 2500-3000 and gets raspy there. At all other rpms it sounds good. Mean, loud and nasty idle, great in high revs and screams at WOT-here's a vid

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/I...road_83531.htm

VERY accurate sound

I made a mistake, I thought I was getting the super 40 series modified to fit as axlebacks. Turns out, they're just the regular delta series. Not much of a improvement obviously, I think I'm going to give up until I get my next mustang lol.

I just installed a off road H with flowmaster 40's, its great

at first i thought i had an exhaust leak /rattle, but every thing is tight

i think the noise at around 2500-3000 is just the the exhaust flows w/o cats muffling everything
