Default How long will this install take me?

Ok guys tomorrow i plan on installing my adjustable panhard bar and LCA's. Now i am sorta mechanically incline. How long do you think it will take?... i have a couple question, do the wheels absolultly have to come off for the LCA install if so i might as well do the lowering springs while i am at it. also since all i have is the jack thats in the trunk, will it work to do the install with one wheel up at a time after i put the panhard bar in?

if you plan to do any work at all on your own in the future, jackstands will be a very worth while purchase. they cost $20 for a pair at sears and well worth the investment.

It took me about 1 -2 hours to do my LCAs. I used jack stands on both sides of the car, i did not take the rims off. All i did was lift the car and place it on the jack stands. The one thing that i will suggested is to undo and replace one LCA at a time or it will become a HUGE pain in the *** to get the new ones on with out some help. I fortunately did one side at a time, but i have seen/read about people having problems when they take both of the factory ones off at the same time.

LCA = Lower Control Arm
UCA = Upper Control Arm
Panhard = Axle Alignment Bar

I would figure about 1 hour for the LCA's...and while you are in there, go ahead and install the springs. Like mentioned, the jackstands are about $20 at Sears/Walmart.

Very easy installs. Just make sure to torque everything down to specifications

I am pretty sure the LCA's bolts get torqued down to 130 ft/lbs. (almost all suspension components in the rear of the car get 130 ft/lbs off torque)

here is a write up for the spring install and LCA install and PHB install

for everything I figure about 3-5 hrs

It's much easier doing the lca's with wheels off. Raise and work on one side at a time; once you figure out how to do one side, the other will go quickly.
Make sure you torque the lca bolts to 129 or 149 ft-lbs (dont remember).

For panhard bar, it's easier to remove and install it with the car resting on the wheels; otherwise the hole alignment will seem to be off. Same torque specs on bolts as well.

As far as putting in springs, the rears are very easy, but should be put in at the same time as the fronts, unless you don't mind the nose raised up. To put in the springs, you simply unhook the bottom of the shocks and lower the rear end low enough to remove the springs and then put in the replacements.

As with anything under the car, use multiple-redundant supports and do not rely on a jack alone. Always think safety, take that little extra time to make sure you are safe under there. One mistake can be fatal. Whenever I raise the rear end, I use at least 2 jackstands, preferably 4.
