Yeah it probably is overkill, but it gives me peace of mind to change it every 3000 miles. Sometimes it will be a little over because I don't have the time to get around to it, but its usually very close to 3000 miles.

On my '05, about every 3k miles. A lot of in-town driving. On my '85, once a year. It gets driven a few hundred miles a year, max. I use Mobil 1 and either a Napa Gold/Wix or Motorcraft filter on both.

Too bad this poll doesn't differentiate between synthetic blend and full syn for those mileage choices.

I voted once a year due to the fact that I drive a semi and never home to drive the car. I maybe put 1-2k a year if I'm lucky.

I'm guessing that most people use full synthetic
