I change it every 5k miles or so, depending on if i go to the track or not. I use mobil 1 and a motorcraft filter. Best bang for my buck, I think its 30 for everything (or so) at walmart.
My fusion gets an oil change every 5k miles also with motorcraft synthetic blend and motorcraft cartridge filter. 20 or so dollars for a change.

try to get it at every 3,000 miles or 3 months. worked for me for the last 10+ yrs without a single engine failure to date...so something must be working
