Certainly it all depends on what you want. But when you buy a Roush you get a completely engineered car from the ground up. Anyone can throw a bunch of parts on a car and increase the HP but in most cases it will not perform as a package, especially where the suspension comes into play. No one else puts out a after market mustang which will pull 1G on the skid pad. At least not anywhere near the price of a Roush.

Then there is the uniqueness of owning a Roush. They are very rare. Nothing wrong with GT500s but not nearly as rare. And many people do not know that all of the blower and high HP goodies on the GT500 are by Roush.

Again, its all in what you want. If you like to build a car yourself, go for it. Nothing wrong with that. But if you want to own one of the best engineered Mustangs, incorporating HP, handling as well as uniqueness, you need to consider a Roush.

427R=Biggest rip off in Blown Mustangs.

Give me a break! $55,538 for a well handleing, sharp looking, 335 rwhp blown mustang. Roush should be embarassed sending a blown Mustang out tuned to run the same horspower a bolt mustang can.

I like the looks, handleing, breaking and style of the 427r. But Roush has missed the boat by either selling it at such a low boost level or tuning it so poorly.

GT500> 427R.

I am sorry but you obviously do not know much about how Roush builds their cars. In addition I believe you may have forgotten about the fact that these high performance cars come with a 3/36 warranty.

Certainly you can tune them for more HP at the risk of reliability. The new GT500 and the New Roush Stage 3, both rated at 540HP, were recently dynoed side by side and the Roush rated much higher at the rear wheels. Why ??? Tune of course. Ford makes many more GT500s than Roush does and must be concerned with warranty.

Also, if you know how Roush and his organization rate their cars, the 335 as stated is very conservative. Roush does not believe in short cutting his customers. Roushes rated at 335 generally test out at 345 to 350 at the crank.

There will always be another Mustang someone has built with more HP. Great!!!! Many Roush owners continue to build their cars further as well. But even a stock Roush with a blower, a 427R or higher rated model are great cars and to trash them with negative comments only shows a lack of knowledge about the man and the cars he builds

Alot of money for the 427R package but still looks great IMO. Cant believe they only got a low 13 out of that. Either they dont know how to drive or it has a VERY conservative tune from the factory.
