A TB spacer is a great investment. You can hang it from the Xmas tree, show it to your friends who will think you're cool (if they're that dumb) or think your dumb (if they know better). I'd be hesitant to install it on an engine, though, since to do so will solicit a lot of ridicule.

I can go on ebay and sell a TB spacer and I can legally claim that you'll gain 1, 2 maybe even 10 RWHP. Doesn't mean it's true. 90% of the HP claims you read are bullcrap OR are crank HP under ideal labratory conditions. My rule of thumb is, whatever the HP claim is, reduce it by half and then keep lowering it from there.
You always have to be careful on what speedpart manufactures claim. Especially dyno numbers where the part being tested had the advantage of the intake being iced, or the hood is up/open, or in a controlled environment makes the part seem better than it really is.
TB spacers do not work, only sometimes on the old carburated engines. Only those make of wood/plastic have some effect as they do not transfer heat as fast as aluminum. Sizing, length or better combustion/fuel atomization are just selling points not proven.
Just as any reputable tuner.
All newer cars especially after 96 do not respond to bolt on mods like older cars can. in fact the modules can counteract them by alterning timing.
I would always recommed a tune over anything else even just a performance air filter. That is where you should begin. CAI do not gain as much horsepower as claimed in my experience, especially on naturally aspirated engines.
