Default Hurst Shifter/Shift Stops

I am going to be ordering a shifter soon from Brenspeed but I noticed they offer two different ones now. One offering "Shift Stops"? Not to sound like an idiot but what are shift stops and are they worth the extra $100?

I was going to get a MGW but I like the heritage attached to Hurst. Not saying I still couldnt be persuaded to get a MGW but I heard they arent notchy enough where hurst is too notchy?

My billet Hurst is suppose to show up today. From the research I've done, people do have issues with the stamped steel Hurst... I haven't heard negatives (other than from the MGW crowd ) on the billet Hurst shifter. The billet one was right at two and a half bills.

The 5-speed manual transmission on the 05-10 Mustang GT has internal stops on the shift forks. Tremec has gone on-record saying that if you use a shifter that has stops that aren't properly adjusted you could cause damage to the transmission.

the stops are so that if you have big man hands and rip at your lever as you shift, it will not stress your shift linkage, or rip it off your transmission.

I have the one your talking about and LOVE it... very high quality, shifts very nice, so much stronger and solid then stock or the cheaper one.

For the stops IIRC you just put it in 3rd gear, screw the top stop in till its touching the shifter, then back it off like 2 threads, so you have like 1-2mm between the stop and the resting, in 3rd gear location of the shifter. Then tighten the lock nut, pull it into 4th and do the same with the back one. Now go through all your gears and make sure your not hitting any of the stops while fully engaged. Then try slamming it to like 2nd then 3rd. As you push it hard, your should tap the stop but when you let go with it in that gear, you should see it come back to a natural rest in gear and not hitting the stop.
