sound or power? the ones that make the best power won't "sound" as good and will require new valvesprings, retainers and lockouts. what's your budget?

I had FRPP hot rod cams in my car. Removed them to deal with tight emissions standards here in central TX. They don't require ANYthing but have a totally sick idle that will be hard to drive in traffic if you have a manual trans car. They sound good and make the car very loud, you will pick up probably 20whp with a good dyno tune ($500).

The comp cams stg 3's (now stg II vsr) are the best performing cams you will find on a (stock motor) S197. Smoother idle..somewhat choppy but livable in traffic and 30+whp gains. Hope hootna doesn't mind me posting his vid. I LOVE these cams!!

But they require springs, retainers, and lockouts.

the c&l manifold is 15 more pounds over the stock one.............other than that it is designed for a cam car but i would wait for the FRPP one.

forget about the intake. cams and one-piece aluminum driveshaft are GREAT mods. I would recommend the steeda 3.5-4'' tapered. Expensive but do it right the first time. Driveshaft isn't where you want to skimp..take it from me..

Do you ever plan on FI? Better off doing the blower and cams if you don't have a budget.
