Default TSB questions

I have a 2005 GT with about 47k miles on it. It is completely stock. I got the car through my divorce, previously it had been my ex's daily driver.

It needs several TBs applied to it. I have the emergency brake freezing problem and now the "05-8-8 GROWL/GRINDING NOISE IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR DURING DECELERATION - TR3650 MANUAL TRANSMISSION" (Synchro replacement).

My question is, since I am out of warranty will the dealer make these repairs or will I be stuck with the bill? I think I know the answer, but wanted to throw the question out there.

If anyone out there has paid these out of pocket, how much am I looking at paying for each?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that all TSB's are done at no cost because they are not your fault.

I could be wrong but i never had an issue with having a TSB done.

It depends on your relationship with the dealership although I've heard more people say that Ford dealers won't honor the TSB work free if you're out of warranty than some of the foreign car dealers. It's always worth a shot and I find it fun to go head-to-head with an arrogant service department.

Chances are they will be out of your pocket. They have no obligation to do them after the warranty is up. Doesn't hurt to try them though.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to give it a shot in the next week. The trans (5spd man) sounds like more and more rocks are rattling around. It now does it under acceleration in 2nd, 3rd and 4th and 5th.
