This week I chose to delete posts in a thread in another section which took 35 minutes to clean up. That's 35 minutes of my life I'll never get back, but the meat of the thread was valuable information and worth salvaging. Some threads would take WAY too much time to save. Regarding the CC threads that were moved, you'll just have to trust our judgment as to the best manner in handling posts that exceeded the rules.
I hope that the MF volunteers enjoy what they do here. If they are not getting paid and they do not get satisfaction from the time they spend, then why do it?

I have done volunteer work in the past. When it got to the point where it was causing too much grief, I just walked away.

It has not come to that point yet...
The ban button and other devices make it worth while.

I was offered to become a Mod and I accepted because it gives me power to take care of things that already annoyed me as a member. It's not a power trip for me, I'm in for the hobby and goofin' around as well.
But now, I can efficiently deal with spammers, trolls and yes a few assholes if need to be.
So it's the best of both volunteering worlds.

Pascal, it sure sounds like a power trip to me. I do thank you for the reply.

A great reply ahddm, could not of said it better,I am glad is car gt500 is good now, but the lies they said are not cool. Thinking he may not know any better! One thing that bothers me is that they said they replaced a few of the rims because they are not true, my question is whey would you mount and sell a rim that is not true! when it states with the rims you should spin each rim before the tire is mounted, and check to make sure sure it is true,or warranty is void! Also if the tire in question was bad why was shipped to the customer! If i mount a set of rims and tires and notice a problem, I would fix it before i sold it to a customer! sometimes when balancing a tire it takes alot of weight! the first thing i would do is rotate the tire 180 deg from were it was, sometimes the heavy spot on the rim and tire are in the same spot, causeing alot of weight on the opestite side, spining 180 will sometimes will correct this problem, if not the tire will be replaced, because i don't want my customer coming back with a problem! just my 2 cents. Also i have mounted these rims and same size tires on my friends lowered gt500 and no problems what so ever!

Well, Pascal, you said that you accepted the position as Mod partly because it gives you the ban button. You also said it gives you the power to take care of things that already annoyed you as a member. That's not a power trip? And I read one of your posts in the Faulty Black Chrome Wheels thread--no need to SCREAM at people for something that hasn't even happened. Just keep cool, the way you were before you became a mod.

What do I bring to these boards? Read my posts and decide for yourself.

I is cool.

And FYI, I haven't touched any buttons yet, despite all the materials posted since I've been a mod, that required the use of such buttons... like V6 vs V8 cr@p, the 2010 is "butt ugly and a piece of schit" argument etc...

I'm gonna drop this but one last question...
If you were a Mod, wouldn't you take actions on any threads?

If yes, then you might be on a power trip.
Your analogy, not mine.

If I were a Mod, I would definitely take action on some threads. I would not, however, post that one reason I liked being a Mod was because I have the ban button (which I don't think you have--in one of your posts on another thread you said banning is up to an Administrator).

I did not make an analogy about Mods in general being on power trips. I think most of them enjoy Mustangs and want to see that posts are in the correct forum, offer guidance, provide information about MF, etc. Yes, part of the job is to keep the posts under control. I said you seemed to be on a power trip. When I asked the question as to why someone would spend the time being a Mod or Administrator, I did not mention anything about power. You brought it up, and said it was not a power trip. When someone says, out of the blue, "It's not a power trip for me...," it often is.

Stay cool.

I read the original first post, and I think the wheels shoudl certinaly be repalced. A lot of resellers try and take the we don't make them we just sell them tact when things go wrong. As for customer service, it doesn't sound great from what I am reading. I mean if i give you my money, not the manufacturer I expect you to stand behind the parts.

Let me give you an example of good customer service from another site sponsor. I ordered some blinkers from AM for my car. When the original set came in I was a dumb a$$ and took one look at them and thought they were headlights for a new edge before I pulled the front bumper and saw just how big those things are. I called AM and told them they sent me the wrong part and they gladly sent me out a new set. Being that I was a tool and didn't check before i complained the parts didn't fit when the second set came in I complained again that I got the wrong part. They sent me a thrid set no questions asked. Before the third set came in I pulled the front bumper to install my headlights, realized they were correct all along and called AM up to tell them it was my fault and their parts were fine. What did they do when I fessed up? They still paid the return shipping on the third set of blinkers even though it was my fault and they were in the right all along. They paid shipping twice for something my fault entirely. That is going out of your way to make the customer happy, even when they are wrong.

The moral of the story here is that if these wheels were fixed, even if CC isn't at fault, these guys would be here singing your praises instead of making the rest of us think twice about using CC. Which way will cost you more money i wonder?
