Default Flex plate issue?

I brought my Mustang in for service, found out Ford installed a faulty Flex Plate between the trans and the motor...TSB issue, but they are going to charge me $700 to fix. Has anyone else had this issue? sounds like a bad Cat, but turns out its not!

I've got it, or what sounds like it based on the TSB symptom description... momentary metal rattle (sounds like a heatshield) at about 2000rpm when cold...

Bugs me, but not $700 worth. It only does it when cold.

(It's not called a flex plate, btw, that's what takes the place of the flywheel on autotragic cars)

This is a known issue and most are familiar with the TSB.

Some dealerships will work with you on TSB work after the warranty has expired. Others are azzholes.

I have the same issue but have learned to live with it. I'm afraid of taking it to the dealership because I have aftermarket exhaust (offroad pipes). They'll probably claim it's the exhaust that's causing the noise. lol
