Default Shaftmasters?

Who has installed the shaftmasters drive shaft? Is it really worth the $500 to do it? Did you notice any power improvements? Is this one of the first mods or last mods somebody should do?

Got mine for $425 shipped. It was completely worth it. Driveline slack is gone. Response is better, etc. I never knew how sloppy the driveline felt until I drove home with the new shaft on there.

I took a look at JimC posts on this.

Does anyone know - Why did Ford put a 2 piece which will require more parts (more cost) than a one piece if a one piece can be installed?

Will the shaftmasters hold up to the top speed of the GT? Obvisouly the Ford stock unit will.

What about feel. Can you really feel the difference. I am reading where guys are saying 2/10ths in the quarter. That is a heck of a lot for just changing a drive shaft. If that is really true, than this is actually huge bang for the buck.

Its actually cheaper and absorbs some NVH and the one piece DS has less unsprung weight so it frees HP

Yes Shaftmasters will hold up but it is always recommended to get the DS safety loop with any change to the heavy 2 piece DS to one piece DS IMO

Huge bang for the buck in feel and the car just feels lighter....no more clunky DS

BIG difference in the car. It doesn't add HP, just lets you use it more efficiently - the car gets up to speed a lot quicker and like Jason said the best way to describe it is that the car actually feels lighter. It got rid of the vibration I had with the stock shaft, is lighter and stronger than stock, and I did pick up almost .2 at the track the weekend after I installed it, and that was the only change I made to the car.

Yup, same as these guys are saying. The difference is substantial. I've had no problems with my Shaftmasters unit.

Any changes to economy? I can't afford one for a while I'm sure but they sound like a good mod to follow cai/tuner and gears. Also which ds is better the one with the adapter or the other

Is there any problem with rubbing or banging on larger bumps or anything?

I am still wondering why Ford would put a two piece if the single is so much better. I know cost, but why didn't they do a single steel unit. The mid bearing, etc has to cost a lot.

I am trying to figure out if the shingle drive shaft clears everthing under bumps, etc.
