Total of 364 complaints, most of which attributed to hard to shift while cold.
Not denying some people have/had issues, but this got blown way the hell out of proportion. Moving on.

Agreed,
It got propogated by forums like this one (unfortuneatly) where people with questionable intentions got involved and just stirred the pot.
There were only a couple of cases that I saw/heard about that had enough proof if you will to really back up what they were saying. And I will continue to say that I hope those people were taken care of/fixed.

Well, what about some of the respectable members here, like ShaneM, who are having a problem with this and not in cold temps... I promise Texas aint cold. Atleast when he started having this problem.

The way I go by is if it's not grinding, it's probably fine, unless it's getting progressively worse. I've driven cars with much rougher feeling transmissions than the 3650, but can't speak from any experience with the MT-82. I do know however, that there were a few cars with very severe problems.
The blowing up part came when people saw others' problems and thought, "...Hey, mine feels kind of notchy too."

By no means does it say there aren't legitimate issues, but it is the realm of any normal part failure. It isn't because of being built in china, it isn't widespread, and yes it was propelled by lawyers trying to gain a class action lawsuit.
