>>> STOLEN! 2006 x-Harper Woods PD Mustang GT <<<
Last night, my 2006 Mustang GT was stolen from Newark, Delaware. I have owned the car for less than 2 weeks, having purchased it directly from the Harper Woods (Michigan) Police Department. Here is a thread about the car from two years ago:

Here are pictures of the car:
The car still had the white paper temporary license plate number XC526211. If anyone finds the vehicle or has information, please contact Delaware State Police Auto Theft Unit at 302-834-2630, reference complaint #06-12-026186

The car died due to a problem it was having with the PATS. The car would either cut out or not start, which is why I had it in the dealer this week to replace a PATS sensor and reflash the computer. I picked it up from the dealer yesterday. Last night, it died pulling onto Papermill Road, so Jack coasted it to the shoulder and we walked home. That was about 8pm. I went back at 9:15pm last night to see if the car had reset itself and might start, but it still wouldn't start. I planned to call this dealer first thing this morning to have them tow it back and fix it right, but by 7:10am it was gone.
The car was not towed by DSP or New Castle County Police either. The car looked like the above pictures, but the inside LED's were covered, and the rocker stripe had more tape on it to cover the lettering.

I sure hope they catch the bastard. But man, I don't know what could have become of it. When do you hear people stealing an ex-cop car? Kinda sticks out and obviously has defining features, even if those lights were covered up. Not the easiest car to blend in with...

It wasn't towed by anyone with the proper authority to tow it. At the bottom of post #1, there's a number for Delaware State Police Auto Theft Unit: 302-834-2630, reference complaint #06-12-026186
